The Lakehouse

The homeowners purchased this beautiful lake house to use as a family Cottage. With over 2400 square feet it met their needs but had not been updated in years. Part of the home was already an addition and did not have a central heating system. These homeowners wanted to be able to use the entire space year-round so duct work was added since we already had a furnace in the main portion of the home. Some walls were opened up to create a little bit more of an open-concept feel and to take advantage of the lake view.

Older Cottages with additions often have unique challenges as typically they start out being 3 season and updates are often not made by professionals. Balancing ‘doing it right’ with a budget generally means lots of choices to be made! Many updates were required in terms of electrical, plumbing and structure. We added new windows and doors as well as flooring throughout.  A complete new kitchen and  bathroom as well as powder room we’re also updated.

At the end this property is not only much more attractive, but certainly more safe and is ready to enjoy for years to come!
