The Heritage Building
This Heritage building in Picton, ON had the misfortune of experiencing a fire in the building. We replaced all of the damaged materials and also took the opportunity to correct some deficiencies that most 1830’s home have tucked away! These older buildings always have some unique and trying surprises. This one was no exception! Removing all materials gave us the opportunity to add insulation in the walls where previously there wasn’t any, as well as remove some old wiring and plumbing that were well past their time.
We removed some walls to open things up, leveled out what was getting tired and replaced the roof with new, architectural shingles that comply with the important Heritage Designation. We also replaced the custom trims and molding and added a new stairwell to the previously unused attic. As this is an office building, many of the rooms were either enlarged or gaining a more comfortable, open concept meeting and lounge purpose!
